‘Fashion Blog Friday’ will show you how you can achieve the latest catwalk inspired looks without having to pay those costly designer prices.
With a little help from some of our wonderful staff and volunteers, we’ll be showing you how to create the latest look using items from our very own Compton Hospice shops!
Fashion Friday Trend 2: White
During the hottest days of the year nothing says summer glam like a cool crisp white outfit. However the thought of wearing all white can be quite daunting - but fear not, when worn the right way white can actually make your figure look longer and leaner. Celebrities who look a bit of ‘all white’ include Dianne Kruger, Taylor Swift, Nicole Sherzinger and Beyoncé to name a few.
How to wear white
- Choose a shade of white that flatters your skin tone. Brilliant white looks great on dark and olive skin however paler complexions are more suited to stone and oyster shades. Be sure to pick a shade that doesn’t wash you out.
- A white shirt is a staple piece for any summer wardrobe because it is so versatile. Wear a long oversized white shirt as a mini dress by combining it with a belt for that relaxed ‘boyfriend’ look. If you prefer a more tailored look team a white shirt with a pair of high wasted skinny jeans – be sure to tuck your shirt into your jeans and add a pastel colour cardigan. Wear the cardigan hung over the shoulders for that perfect preppy look.
- Add a splash of colour and team your white outfit with vibrant accessories. White is an extremely versatile colour that looks great against any shade. If you are feeling bold go for bright colours - reds and oranges add a fiery flare. Teaming white with tan accessories screams ‘St Tropez Chic’, whilst white mixed with pastels in cool mint, candy pink and sky blue are perfect for feminine and festival inspired looks.
- Keep eye make up simple but don’t forget to roll out that rouge – red lipstick is the perfect accompaniment to anyone white ensemble.
